Badou Jack became a two-division champion when he stopped Nathan Cleverly last August on the the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor pay-per-view undercard.
The promotion became the second highest grossing event of all time just behind the highly anticipated Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao showdown.
Prior to that fight, the Mayweather Promotions’ fighter held the WBC super middleweight title. Jack successfully defended the green strap three times before moving up in weight.
The current holder of that WBC title is David Benavidez who captured it with a split decision victory over Ronald Gavril. In February he punctuated his championship claim with a dominant decision victory over Gavril in their rematch.
Next up for Benavidez is a fight against Anthony Dirrell and Jack believes that the Phoenix native could be the best out there in the weight class.
